Lock or unlock proposal items

Locking a PBS element or task prevents changes to it. However, there are exceptions to this:

• When items are locked, Contractor Essentials can still make changes in the proposal while synchronizing data.
• You can delete a locked PBS element that has no tasks, resources, or trips.
• You can delete a locked task that has no resource estimates or travel estimates.
• When tasks are locked but the PBS element is unlocked, you can still edit and delete resources and trips that have no estimates.

Follow these steps to lock or unlock an element or task:

1. On the Estimates page, select a PBS element.
2. To lock or unlock the element, go to the Indicators column of the PBS, then click or .
3. To lock or unlock a task in the element, go to the task header, then click Options > Lock or Unlock.
