Pricing models
The Pricing Models page is for creating, copying, editing, and deleting the models used in proposals.
Pricing models define the indirect elements that are applied to your resources' direct expenses, as well as the cost levels, subtotals, and totals shown in reports. Logical and arithmetical rules and expressions make up the pricing formula, which specifies how indirect expenses are calculated and added to direct expenses.
Along with the sample model, ProPricer Contractor Essentials has other features to assist you with the pricing model setup. You can:
- Create new pricing models with the same predefined indirect elements found in the sample.
- Restore the default expression for an indirect element after changing it.
- Protect an element's expression from changes when other elements are updated.
- Use a simple or advanced mode to work on the pricing formula.
Once you create a pricing model and set up its elements and formula, attach it to an indirect rate table. The pricing model provides the list of indirect elements that need rates. When the indirect rate table is ready, attach it to a direct rate table.
To use a pricing model in a proposal, go to the Pricing proposal settings and select a direct rate table. The attached indirect rate table and pricing model will be selected automatically.
