Add a resource in a proposal

You can add a resource to any proposal breakdown structure (PBS) element where estimates are allowed. To Quick Add several new resources throughout the PBS simultaneously, see Quick Add Resources.

  1. On the Estimates page, select a PBS element. If it has resources already, they will appear in the estimates grid to the right.
  2. Above the estimates grid, click Add > Add Resource.
  3. Enter a unique resource name.
    • If you use the Resource Alias Naming feature in your system settings, resources will be named automatically.
  4. Select a resource from the proposal's direct rate table.
  5. Select an indirect pool for the resource. (Optional)
  6. Select an accounting calendar for the resource. (Optional)
  7. Enter values in any custom resource fields.
  8. Click Create. When the resource appears in the grid, you can enter its estimates.

Reuse a resource

  1. On the Estimates page, select a PBS element. Its resources will appear in the estimates grid to the right.
  2. Above the estimates grid, click Add > Add Resource.
  3. Click Use Existing.
  4. Select an existing resource from the same PBS element or a different one. Contractor Essentials will automatically enter the existing resource's information.
  5. Click Create. When the resource appears in the grid, you can enter its estimates.
