Add a resource in a proposal
You can add a resource to any proposal breakdown structure (PBS) element where estimates are allowed. To Quick Add several new resources throughout the PBS simultaneously, see Quick Add Resources.
- On the Estimates page, select a PBS element. If it has resources already, they will appear in the estimates grid to the right.
- Above the estimates grid, click Add > Add Resource.
- Enter a unique resource name.
- If you use the Resource Alias Naming feature in your system settings, resources will be named automatically.
- Select a resource from the proposal's direct rate table.
- Select an indirect pool for the resource. (Optional)
- Select an accounting calendar for the resource. (Optional)
- Enter values in any custom resource fields.
- Click Create. When the resource appears in the grid, you can enter its estimates.
Reuse a resource
- On the Estimates page, select a PBS element. Its resources will appear in the estimates grid to the right.
- Above the estimates grid, click Add > Add Resource.
- Click Use Existing.
- Select an existing resource from the same PBS element or a different one. Contractor Essentials will automatically enter the existing resource's information.
- Click Create. When the resource appears in the grid, you can enter its estimates.
